How can I stop Austin biting me? He's just started doing it at EVERY feed and it's really hurting. I think I may have to switch to formula if he carries on, my nipples haven't been this sore since he was 2 weeks old! I'm starting to dread every feed.

I used to stop feeding everytime Oscar did it too me. I would lay him in his cot and walk out of the room for 1-2 min. It didn't take long and he soon stopped, had to do it 3 or 4 times I think.

When Ellie has bitten me, I have taken her off the breast told her "No", and then not allowed her to latch back on. Though she always did it after a good feed and she didn't get her first tooth through until 9 months. I haven't had to do that too many times before she stopped, however of course she was quite a bit older when her teeth came through so she was on a lot of solids and had dropped quite a few breast feeds by then.

Have you tried pushing his face into your breast for a second (covering his nose). Sounds horrid and don't do it for long but it can work and stop them from doing it. Or squealing is apparently good!

Cheers I'll try them. If I just say no he giggles, he seems to think it's funny to get a reaction!

Grace has just started biting me.............. tonight I took her off and said no... I found it quite hard as it is the first time that I have had to say no in a firm voice and she seems so tiny and I felt so mean.... it isn't like she knows that it is going to hurt me.

but it did the trick.......
