Has anyone used these to collect milk?

I am leaking a lot while feeding my little one and wondering whether it's worth using a breast shell rather than wasting the milk. Not sure if it'd be too much faff to be worthwhile though.

I tried but it wasn't worth it, far too faffy and spilt more than I collected! x

I used these alot in the early days with H, I could catch 1 or 2oz in the shields & add them to an expressed bottle :) they are really easy to use & comfortable too as they stop your nipples rubbing against your bra. Just make sure to remember that the whole is at the top & not the bottom or the milk will all leak out! X

Just make sure that you don't over feed LO your foremilk which will leak first! You get green poo and it's important baby gets hind milk too :)

Thanks for the input. I might give them a go and see how I get on.

Reporting back.

I bought the Avent shells and have used them a couple of times to collect leaking foremilk (I've made sure to express after the feed to collect some hindmilk to balance out). They are easy to use and comfy to wear and it's very satisfying knowing that the milk isnt going to waste (am hoping to build up a supply in my freezer).

They also have a pair to protect damaged nipples which I'm giving a try now. It says you can't feed the milk these collect (presumably because they are ventilated so could get contaminated) which is a shame, but they are certainly a lot more comfy than being squashed into a breast pad and bra. Should have bought them sooner. Just wish they could be worn all day!
