We plan to call our little boy Sacha which is short for Alexander (my partner's name) but a few people have said this is a popular name for girls at the moment. I don't want our son to be teased for having a girls name so it would be good to get
a general opinion.

I would have said it was a girls name hun. But saying that Alex can be a boy or a girls name. So im not sure  ...sorry didnt help much did I :(

i thought the same hun

Hmmm I would say personally, if im honest, its a more feminine name but then its is unisex.

I wouldnt worry what other people think babe, if you like the name then go for it!

Yeah, i'd say it was a more feminine name as well hun, but as Jade says if you like it go for it!

i would say its more of a girls name, but my sister does have a friend called that. But i had a tiger called Sacha adopted for me one year. Beautiful white, male, bengal tiger!

I agree - if you like it, go for it!

did shortening Alexander to Sacha originate from Russia?

I like Sacha, I think it works for a boy as well as a girl. I didn't think it was very common at all at the moment for either sex so I think you could easily use it.

I know both a girl and a boy Sacha (spelt Sasha for a girl)... and of course there is Sacha Baron Cohen of Borat fame - not sure that's a good thing but I love the name.
