Does anyone know/recommend a good bottle starter pack? I plan on break feeding but would like to have bottles on stand by and also for when I'm not at home for feeds. Not really sure on what brands are popular either.

Thank you!

Yeah I made that mistake by buying three small tommee tippee bottles and a six pack big ones.. ended up buying more avent ones they didn't work and ended up on mam bottles and over time bought more of them.. starter packs are just a waste of money as your baby might preference completely different bottles.. you might struggle with wind or vomit and then dr browns are best.. I reckon mam are second best but more of a faff putting together and all that x

This time round I have bought two bottles (going to try chicco) as I bought a million Tommee tippee last time and ended up using NUK as that's the teat she preferred. I'm trying to avoid this time as they do tend to leak a bit which drove me mental.

I'm not breastfeeding so my plan is to use pre-made bottles first then attempt to use bottle and if she takes to it I will go out that afternoon(or send hubby on errand) and buy more. If she doesn't then i will try another brand I think might work.

It's all trial and error, just pick one and see what happens.

Breastfed my son for 9 months and in that time I tried five different brands of bottle and he wouldn't take any of them. Finally at 9 months when he had no choice as my milk dried up when I was pregnant he took a tommee tippee. With my daughter she was breastfed for a few weeks then we had loads of problems with thrush and I started expressing and using the Medela calma teat bottles, these were excellent, they really do mimic the way they feed from the breast so don't get confused and they can get it out at whatever speed they need so no need to keep buying different speed teats. Eventually I ended up exclusive express feeding her but stuck with the medela bottles.
I had a starter kit of tommee tippee and they have definitely been used so weren't a total waste but I would maybe suggest doing something like buying 1 medela calma bottle, 1 mam, 1 tommee, 1 lansinoh and seeing which one works best for you. Apart from tommee tippee I've seen all of those sold as just single bottles. You could see if someone had a new unused one they'd give you or if you buy a tommee tippee steriliser (I found it was good for all bottles) then they often come with one bottle as a free trial x
