Hi

DH and I want to book Orlando for September time this year. We're massive fans of Orlando and the thought of not being able to go makes us feel like we're missing out.

What I don't want to do is book it and then get a BFP and not want / be able to go but of course, I want a BFP more than a holiday so I am prepared to not go.

My question is, what do ladies who are seeking fertility treatment do about booking holiday's whilst TTC? I know you can't put your whole life on hold (so they say!) so do you just go ahead and book and see what happens? Do you work out how far gone you would be between time of booking and the holiday so you can work out if you can fly?

Really don't know what to do as I don't want to miss out on a holiday for a pregnancy that never comes but then I don't want to spend alot of money booking a holiday that I'll have to cancel.

Answers on a postcard!! x

Hi,
I did tend to put holidays and things on hold for the first 5 months of TTC but then me and oh decided that we would not put anything on hold as you just never know how long TTC will take it's just our of our control. We had some fab holidays while we were waiting for IVF and I think this really helped us to deal with the infertility and it gave us things to look forward to. Once we had our start date for IVF we felt ready and I would definitely tell you to book Orlando and have a fab time!
Good luck x

I'd say book it, we booked our wedding about 4 months into TTC (funnily enough for Orlando) and by the time the wedding came around it ended up being 2 months after we got the go ahead for our first IVF.
We've enjoyed a holiday every year since although we tend to book them at shorter notice now because we need a good deal since we're paying for a treatment and also not knowing whats happening but they've really helped us escape the 'real life worries' for that short time we're away.

Im booking to go to mexico in september so id say book it too! Ive missed out on so many things because ive put things on hold! Not any more! ::((( xx

Thanks guys! I'm changing treatment next cycle so once my first cycle of that is finished and (would be April) I'll be within the time frame for flying if I was to get pregnant...i think!

Ah Tinkerbell I'm so jealous! We wanted to get married in Orlando but our parents went crazy at that idea - still wish we had got married there!

My in-laws are disney vacation club members and no longer use their timeshare so we get the accomodation for free which is always a bonus! That's why we never seem to go anywhere else on holiday so if we don't go we feel like we've not been anywhere xx

Definitely book it! Then its win/win because you either get a great holiday or a baby instead! :)

Hi Belfa, I would book your holiday, when we started TTC I put things off just in case I was pregnant but I now realise this was a mistake. Holidays relax us which is a big plus when TTC. :dust:

Defo book it! I'm off on a hen holiday in august but I'm hoping I get my bfp by then :)

Hi belfa, we booked for florida when we were ttc. It had been over a year and a half at that point and I really wanted to go. Hubby got a good bonus with hs work and I was feeling quite down about ttc and he said f**k it we're going! Lol so we did and we had a great time! So glad we went now just the two of us. We plan on taking our lo when he's about 5. Can't wait! Have a lovely time hun and lots of luck with your treatment xxxx

Hi , just wanted 2 say BOOK IT !! I've been ttc 4 over 2 years and off 2 Orlando on tues , can't put ur life in hold I'm planning on conceiving over there !! Lol

I know exactly how you feel!

I say book it, it will give you something to look forward to and take your mind off ttc x

Thanks everyone! Definately feel more confident about booking now. If I don't get a BFP by May then I will be able to book up as I will be within the 5months then if I do fall pregnant.

I don't know if anyone reads my journal but we're having issues with the bank atm regarding our house build so a holiday may be out of the question this year but I should know by May xx
