Hi,
Me and my husband are trying for DC2. I have a progesterone test on Monday coming as that is 7 days before my period is due. I also had routine bloods last Monday. I have just had the results which the receptionist told me my LH level was high but the doctor won't be in until Monday to address this.
I've read online that this could mea PCOS or premature menopause.
I'm worried sick can anyone advice.

If it helps I have a 28 day cycle.
The first day of my last period was 31st July.
Lh blood test on the 7th august.
Progesterone is Monday coming 14th.

What does this mean? Will I struggle to get pregnant? 😭😭

Your blood test was done too late from what I've been told? I usually get told to have it done days 1-3or 1-5 but seems like yours was day 8? Therefore LH will be higher as it won't be the baseline..it will be gearing it for ovulation xx

Thank you for replying. Sorry to sound stupid but what do you mean day 1-3? Would the lh level being high that day indicate I was ovulating that day?

The days refer to the days of your cycle so day 1 is the first day of your period (proper bleeding not spotting). I agree with millielaura. It sounds like you had your LH tested too late. If I understand correctly, LH rises from the start of your cycle towards ovulation and this should be tested at the start of the cycle as a higher reading at that point would indicate that the body is working harder to release an egg. I'm sure someone will correct me if I've got this wrong!! As yours was tested day 8, it will be higher anyway.

Also, if you have a 28 day cycle which assumes ovulation around day 14, it appears your next period would be due 28th August? The progesterone levels should therefore be done on 21st August which would be 7 days before your period is due. These are often referred to as 'day 21' progesterone but it's often a different day depending on cycle length.

Hope this is helpful.

Well ladies thank you for all your help. After7 months of trying I've just had 2 positive tests!!
We are over the moon!

Best of luck to all of you when you test x
