My wife and I found out that she was pregnant a week ago. She has been having the usual aches and pains ever since, however on Wednesday she started bleeding. We were understandably worried and arranged for her to see her GP. Her GP said that this could be the start of a miscarriage or it could be normal. She arranged for a scan, which will be carried out on 6 weeks, which is this thursday. My wife's bleeding got heavier on the second day and she felt that she was losing the pregnancy. However just when we were starting to belive this, she stopped bleeding. We felt a miscarriage would last for longer and there would be heavier bleeding. Now we need to wait for the scan and we don't know whether to be optimistic or to try and get over it. Can anyone help? :?

I wish I could give you some advice! I did bleed a little with my first! But only for a very short time!
I just wanted to give lots of these
And lots of this!

I am sorry she is going thru that. I have never bled (knock on wood) but have spotted brown color a couple of times.

Did her bleeding stop? From what u said I understood it did. Did she pass any clots? I have read that passing clots isnt a good sign, I hope she didn't. Does she still feel pregnant still?

I dont really know what to say, but to wait to see the GP. Why didnt u guys go to the ER? She could have had a scan, but at this point maybe is useless as she is less than 6 weeks so a heartbeat wouldnt be detected but only from 6 weeks and above.

I wish u the best and all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope your little baby is okay

I had a very heavy bleed at 8 weeks which just gushed out of me and I thought it was a miscarriage. The amount of blood that came out was enough to soak through and ruin a pair of trousers. I then bled for another 24 hours after very heavily.

When I went for the scan eveeything was fine.

Unfortunately there is nothing they can do until that scan but bleeding doesn't always mean a miscarriage.

Good luck for Thurs.

Firstly  as we know only to well what your going through.
Like Hazel i have a really heavy bleed at 6/7weeks and thought we had lost our little shrimp, after 2/3 days we had a scan and everything was fine. All i can say is if she is in no pain and just bleeding then things are normally fine, if there is pain then i'm afraid its different.
People often feel period pains through most of 1stTri .
Good Luck and wish you all the best with the scan

If there's pain associated with the bleeding (like a period pain) then this isn't a very good sign, but bleeding without pain can be normal in some pregnancies. If there's no pain then I'd try not to worry about it, especially if the bleeding has stopped.

I'm sure Thursday seems like an eternity away, but hopefully it'll bring some good news for you both.
