birth pools

my girl friend said she will lend me her birth pool in may, and she mentioned that it comes with a hose to attach to the tap. we just have a kitchen tap downstairs- do u think i ought to clean the tap inside as i'm worried about infection (from maybe touching the tap after handling meat or changing the cat litter tray)? if so what should i clean it with? or should i just fit a new tap?! i kno its awhile off yet, but it would be nice to know!

hi there,I'm no expert,but I would have thought that if the tap has hot water running through it for a while then that would do the trick - perhaps try some of that dettol spray stuff up and around it to make sure.
I know what you mean about taps being dirty though,but it's usually limescale type stuff around here,someone else may have more suggestions
