best place to buy or rent South or North

But its all relevant because although the North is cheaper the wages you earn up North are less than down south.

Not always tho... One of my friends lives in London and only earns £13,000 as a PA she's hardly left with anything after her rent and then she is ending in a whole load of debt... just so she can live.

I like London for a visit, but couldnt live there. :talkhand:

But what would she earn as a PA up North? mind you 13k is a pretty low wage no matter where you live.

The last time I moved up North I got a transfer from Bookers in Wimbledon to Bookers in Bolton and they had to keep my wages the same so I wasn't allowed to tell any staff up there what I was earning :shhh:

You would get a very high wage as a PA here. Aberdeen wages are extreamly high in most places tho due to the oil industry.... Aberdeen was actually voted one of the most expensive places to go a year or two back.

I can't slag off the North though because my Isaac is half Boltonese :)

Not very true, I'm afraid. The average wage is now £14,000 - £14,500 these days.

I know a lot of people who are around the 25yr old mark and only earning the above or up to £18,000. I have A LOT of work experience and I am only looking to earn a max of £15,000 - £16,000 now, unless I get lucky.

For the same jobs down here, you can get a higher wage up north. A few friends of mine are moving up to leeds/liverpool as they have found the exact same job as they are doing for £5,000 extra a year.

I can't argue that Scotland is an absolutely lovely place. After spending the New year there I am in love with it.

BUT Kirsty and Phil also voted Epsom the best place in the UK too not last year the year before I think, and that is just up the road from me, infact Isaac was born in Epsom hospital. So there! :shakehead:

South :cheer: South :cheer: South :cheer:

Answer these questions and your dilema will be solved....

Jim Bowen or Jim Davidson?

Oi! Jim Bowen lives in our village and drinks in our pub; I'll tell him about this post!

Anyway in answer to Sarah's question NORTH! We live in a beautiful up-and-coming town (Lancaster) where you can get a house for £130000 easy.

We rent but that's a lifestyle choice and it makes more financial sense for us in the current economic climate.

My family come from Avoch, by Inverness and it's beautiful!

All goes pear shaped here, I'm going up to Scotland!!

Oh I love it up there!

I think you should move back up north! The difference in house prices is shocking!

We moved up here from Devon because we could get so much more for our money. We have a georgous 3 bed house in a small affluent town overlooking the hills.
For the same money in Plymouth we would have just about managed to afford a 2 bed ex-council house on a dodgy estate riddled with crime and drugs.

I stand corrected :)

I used to through bits of kebab I had at the kids who hung out at stupid o'clock in the morning, from the taxi on the way back to Drake

:rotfl:

Id give anything to move back up home
but James wants to stay in the south
The North is a wonderfull people are so much more warm friendly and Newcastle is the perfect size for a city London is way to big for me

the metro centre is fantasitc and the shopping as far as im concerned is much better.
the coast line is breath taking and the counrtyside is beautiful

in my line of work i could go anywhere and find work especially being qualified and for James well they need policeman everywhere too.

Im very very proud to be Northern and always will be no matter how long i spend down south.

Ive been down over 4 years now and still miss home just as much as the day i left
if i did move back up id not move to Blyth as yes there are drug problems there id live in my home village of Seaton Delaval or one of the neigbouring villages

as i said my Grandmar Colliers house sold for 110.000 in Seaton Delaval

so me its NORTH NORTH NORTH ALL THE WAY
...

Oh and forgot to add

My accent rocks!!! Gotta love the yorkshire-ness!!! off't pub!!!
