hi Ladies,
once baby is born, what benefits are working parents entitled to?

Depends on what your income is? I think if a couples is less than £26000 you can get tax credits. Otherwise it's just child benefit x

Yes we don't get anything either. I only went back part time after my first so only just earn above what smp is so won't be too much of a shock for me this time!
If you earn less than £50k you'll get full child benefit. If you earn between £50-60k you'll get a reduced level of child benefit.
Over £60k the amount of extra tax you'll pay outweighs your child benefit so essentially you don't get it.
The 30 hours thing is the reason we went for another baby so soon but will have to change daughter's nursery as they don't all offer it all![]()
the income threshold for tax credit /working tax credits is 25k for one child, 30k for 2. If your household income is more than that you certainly dont need benefits !
Check out 'tax free childcare' as I've been looking into this also, I think the savings are greater than childcare vouchers but would depend on your income.
To qualify for this both parents must be working and earn under £100k.
Yes definitely seems worthwhile the savings are around £2k a year I believe. I need to go back to work full time (not straight away obviously) so any help with childcare costs is welcome.

Why, do you add to a special pot to pay for peoples childcare?
