When we had the 20 week scan we didn't find out the baby's sex. Now i feel jealous of all you girls who know what you're having :? When i was at the midwife's last week she listened to the heartbeat and reckoned she knew what it is (even though she did admit she sometimes gets it wrong). It was hard not to ask what she thought it was
I'm sure it will be worth the wait but it's so hard! Any other team greenies out there who can give me some good thoughts about not knowing?

I just keep thinking of that magic moment after birth...

You'll be knackered, bemused, maybe high off drugs.......then you get to meet your baby and hear 'It's a............' It's so exciting. :)

And how friends and family will be waiting. Rather than just 'She's had it', they'll be hearing that extra bit of info and everyone will be going out to buy a pink or blue card :cheer:

Just focus on what a fantastic reward it will be once you've given birth and your OH/mw says "It's a..." It'll be worth it hon I just know it will. And you can't lose faith, or the rest of us whose greenness hasn't been tested yet might cave in!

I just keep thinking: at the birth when they say 'It's a . . . ' I'll be saying 'Oh my god it's a . . . ' rather than "Oh yeah, we know."

I agree it is a bit hard because all the baby stuff out their is limited unless you know you are having a boy or girl - but at least we will know the size of the baby when it comes to buying a big chunk of their clothes!

The good thing is the guessing too, people will say it's a boy or I think it's a girl all they way up to the birth - the down side to that is that they'll be screaming 'I TOLD YOU SO' when its born! :shakehead:

Hang in there hon you're over half way as team green! :cheer:

Everything they said -plus, think of the money you're saving by not knowing! :cheer: I know if I had found out last week I would have gone mad buying pink or blue outfits - probably way more than I'll ever need!

Also, my friend was a greenie for both of her babies (she has one of each) and she said it was great because she hardly needed to buy a stitch of clothing after they were born as everyone got stuff for her!

I know for a fact my mum will be out shopping in a frenzy of blue or pink as soon as she hears I've given birth to let out all the pent up grandmotherly urge she has to buy stuff now - I've asked her to wait as I don't want my baby to be beige for the first few months of his/her life

And imagine if you had found out and they got it wrong... you could have a boy in dresses for a few weeks!

This happened to my sister-in-law's best mate and she was NOT best pleased let me tell you.

I have to admit I've been struggeling as well! I'm so nosey that I just want to know but I'm determined to remain team Green!

I asked my boss who has 6 kids last week (wife gave birth yesterday) why they have never found out what they have been having each time and he kind of changed my mind as he said it is the most breath taking moment when they say 'it's a .......'

Just got to get through the scan and I'll have to definitly wait then!

It's quite fun doing all these old wives tales things as well to see if they are right

It's hard been team green :?

Thanks for your encourangement! I am pleased that i stayed Team Green really. I'd love it to be my husband to tell me "it's a ...." and when i imagine that moment i feel myself getting teary so i know it will be worth it. Uh oh here come the tears... I'm a bit emotional right now!

Awww you guys are making me rethink my decision to find out...

It sure is hard i so wanted to find out at my 21 week scan and i thought i was gonna find out but lil one wasnt playing ball so iv also no idea but that wasnt my choice

But it is hard

Im team green and although sometimes its frustating, usually when I see gorgeous girl or boy clothes  Im happy that we didnt find out. Its definitely keeping me going now that Im starting to find everything a struggle and the aches and pains have started, kicks hurt etc! Im really excited about finding out at the birth and having OH tell me and although meeting your baby is always going to be amazing I think it will be that bit more special :)

I know of someone who was told they were having a girl too and decorated pink, bought pink clothes and out popped a little boy! They couldnt even get their money back on most things as everything had been unwrapped, tags taken off and washed! That did kind of scare me and put me off finding out anyway  Although to anyone who has found out Im pretty sure thats a rare occurence so dont panic

It is so hard isnt it!! It WILL be worth it tho everyone who has stayed team green has said its worth it in the end.

When I go shopping for new baby bits I even find that the neutral clothes can be a bit too boyish or girlie tho!

I love that moment of finding out the sex. .I have never had an issue with not buyign stuff but then I don't really do the gendered stuff and I do like babies in nice white sleepsuits for the first few weeks. Plus as others have said you get a ton of clothes bought for you after baby has arrived.

If you are really struggling, why not buy one girly item and one boy item - the one you don't use you can sell on again.

I love being team green - as hard as it is.
I was team green last time with my twins, and despite scan after scan (I had millions of them!), I was convinced they were boys, but always said I didn't want to be told. I was totally shocked when they were girls. It was a lovely surprise.
This time I have absolutely no idea what I'm having, but I'll be surprised whatever LO turns out to be. I can't wait!

Reading these posts kinda makes me wish I hadent found out now.
It would be lovely to here them say 'and its a...' after waiting all that time not knowing :)
