I went to Kiddicare today and fell in love with it. It does everything I want it to except for one thing.......it doesn't lie completly flat although it says it's suitable from birth.

Has anyone else got this and used it from birth without the carrycot. It's just that although I would love to have the carrycot it's £150 and the baby will only be it for 3 months.

Just really don't know whether it's worth forking out another £150????

ur probably better off asking in ask a mum section

i have it Kj and if you use the carseat part then you push the baby around in that from birth, a baby would be too small for the pushchair part from birth though.

i answered someones thread about it the other day so if you look here you'll see some photos of me with the car seat part and with the pushchair:

I had the carrycot bit but i never pushed her around in it, we only used it so she could sleep in the living room for daytime naps, and she slept in it for a few weeks in our bedroom until we felt comfortable enough to put her in her crib. but if you have a moses basket or something then i wouldnt bother getting the carrycot bit as Evie had outgrown hers by about 4 months old.

My sister has one. She bought it a couple of weeks ago and loves it. As far as I know, it is fine from birth.

I am SO excited about the new Kiddicare opening! It should be soon and it looks fantastic!!! It's currently 5 mins from my house and will be approx the same once it moves across town :D

in the books that i've got it says that you're ok to push babies round in the car seat bit as long as its not for long. but for any periods of time, the baby needs to be lying completely flat...

i'd like to get a proper pram (the old fashioned type) then switch to a lightweight buggy when baby is older, but not sure if this is practical... off to the baby show in oct so am gonna trawl all the stalls for ideas!

I had a really good look on the net at the reviews of this pushchair. The only downsides I can see is the basket is really small!

I am still not sure though whether the pushchair on it's own will be ok from birth as it doesnt lie completely flat. This is my only real concern. Anyone used just the pushchair from birth?

baby doesnt have to be laying flat from birth.. as long as its not sitting upright you will be fine.. bouncers dont lay flat..

that prams the most popular this year here.. seen it about loads

Thanks Lisa. I forgot about bouncy chairs. My boys used to fall asleep in theirs and they were fine.

I guess LO will be fine in it then and there really is no need to buy the carry cot. So that will mean £150 to spend on other stuff! :cheer:

I think it might be worth not letting a baby fall asleep for too long unless they are flat. I think there was a death recently from a baby asleep in a car seat and this was in the news in Dec last year:

Babies should not be left asleep in car seats unchecked because there is a risk they will stop breathing, warn experts.

It's from BBC health which is usually a good source.

I think he will be ok as I am not getting the carseat on the buggy. Also it seems that in that case the baby had asthma and breathing difficulties.

i think when u recline a pushchair its alot flatter then a car seat, so baby is at alot less risk, every buggy i had that says its from birth never lie completley flat. but baby has always been comfy

Yes paradysso that's what I was thinking.

I think my baby will be just fine I just worry too much!

I bought this loola pram and carseat and don't think I will be getting a carrycot either. I have a moses basket which will do for round the house. I don't plan to let baby sit in the car seat for long periods either, though I have seen quite a few mothers with their newborns in those car seats in shopping malls and I have to say they do look comfy.
