oh I feel a right fraud now - its an Eddie Izzard quote. I have never put a sock in a toaster but I have put a trainer in an oven to dry it, and it melted everywhere. sorry for misleading everyone

My mums friend who I detested put some jeans under te grill to dry before and they burnt with a criss-cross pattern from the grill rack made my day
