Hi ladies, had MW today and was shocked to be told little miss is back to back, have any ladies been told this around similar time and baby's moved? MW has gave me a few tips to help moved her so will be doing them everyday. MW also told me to have a look online about back to back baby's now I worrying more then ever, says much harder labor and use of forceps is quite common?

For some reason it's really upset me and I've been crying majority of the afternoon! FTM issues I think.

Would love to hear from anyone with experience? God dam the Internet haha!!

She's 4/5ths engaged tho yay! 2 more since my last app 2 weeks ago Xxxxx

Aww hun - as you might know my boy was back to back for ages - No-one was concerned (except me) because I was under 36 weeks but I got a birthing ball and whenever just resting / watching TV etc just sat on it and rocked (no bouncing!!) had quite a lot of time over the past 2 weeks since maternity leave.
Saturday I felt reduced movement and went to triage and he was engaged the right way round! The reduced movement was because I wasn't used to feeling him the right way round (poor little guy can't win ) perhaps the birthing ball helped?? I'm certainly going to keep using it to help ensure he stays that way.
Hope you feel better soon lovely, my m/w appointment wasn't straightforward today either  I'll post in September mummies ...
Xxx

I wouldn't worry - I'm 35 weeks and breech!!!! :/

I'd happily be back to back- I'm sure baby will spin around - watch your posture - get on a ball and scrub the floor ;)

Thanks ladies !

I know sorry mummybexee I feel terrible moaning as I know people have it so much worse I think I was just shocked and it sent me in to panic, hormones haven't been great the past couple of days anyway so think that's where the emotions have come from.

Summer I'll make sure to check your post now hope all is well! Xxxxx

I was told on Monday that mine was semi back to back, think it's sideways but veering towards the back. Everything ive read or been told suggests that it's when you go into labour that you need to get it turned around and use the yoga ball loads. Think they can still move around quite a lot before then.

Out of interest what tips did she give you to help turn it? I might have a try!

Sitting on yoga ball instead of sofa when watching TV, or leaning forwards on it when on your knees if that makes sense? She also said being on all 4's a lot , scrub the floor etc , we have carpet so I've been on all 4s just watchin TV and writing things in diary haha! Hope this helps.

Does anyone else have any tips? Xxxx

2 of mine have been born back to back! I tend to carry back to back too, try not to worry too much which I know is hard !! But maybe try all the things she has said, the birthing ball helps a lot with posture and comfort! Baby has time to get into the right position, can even move on labour so fingers crossed. Xxx

I'm 37.5 weeks and baby is back to back - I'm not too concerned as midwives have told me that babies can wait until right before birth to turn around the right way - and if they don't then plenty of people have normal natural births when baby is back to back. Wouldn't worry too much altho I'm told bouncing on th birth ball and getting on hands and knees can help x

I was back to back with ds up until 38 weeks. I didn't do any of the things suggest, for many reasons but he still turned. Try not to worry! I totally understand your being upset, I wailed like a baby when I was told ds was breech. No rhyme or reason for the upset, I think it's just the shock of things not going exactly textbook and your hormones sending you into overdrive!

Just making you feel abit better bunny

I'm sure everything will go smoothly for you x

Thanks ladies means the world you've all been so helpful and putting my anxiety to bed.

Kumber I think your right it's the hormones mixed with not expecting it!

Xxxxx

My daughter was born back to back hun, no-one knew or told me that she was back to back though I only found out when I gave birth. I am glad I didn't know though as I didn't have time to worry about it and giving birth with no previous births to compare to also helped. It was a bit long and took me longer than I would of liked to push her out but I was determined to do it and I did. No forceps used, I just had to have an episiotomy to prevent more tearing which I didn't even feel so all good :) It isn't that bad hun x

Thanks H you'll have to explain to me what an epistomy is?? Xxxx

Basically they make a small cut between your vagina opening and your bum so that you don't tear as much if baby having a hard time coming out x

My lo was b2b at the start of my Labour but turned before he was born.

I didn't realise he was b2b until I had my Labour debrief and she explained that him being b2b was the reason I was pushing involuntarily before I was dilated fully.

I would do what mw has advised but she may well turn herself anyway.

Thanks Emily! Yeah I've read that a lot of baby's change position in labor also so fingers crossed she's just being a little tinker!

Ladies I can't thank you enough for all replying and taking your time to reassure me it means so much xxxx

There's 2 different types of episiotomy :) one is a cut downwards towards bum hole and the other is a cut to the side in say a SW position - I had the latter with my son- as I ended up with a theatre foreceps. You'll be just fine. They are worth every single moment and pain - promise :)

Both my sisters where back to back and she had them both within 5 hours. Luisa was back to back but because she turned on to her side I couldn't get past 9cm. They said if she had stated back to back I would of had within a few hours, your be fine hun xx

Thanks ladies !! Things like that get me all Squamish but I know once I'm in the thick of it I'll man up and get on with it :)
Xxxxx
