oh id have loved to. i dont get to meet many children. and to be honest am a little worried about having my own without ever being around them lol

Ok on the babysitter side of things I can't do it sadly too far away from you chick but I'm just wondering. How do you find a babysitter you trust to look after your baby when you go for nights out etc? I'm talking in general here DH and I were last night discussing things were booked up to do and want to do etc and suddenly I realised come August it's going to be us plus baby. I'd not leave him/her with any of my step-children, two of them are just bloody idiots and the other two although very sweet and loving would just have no clue, especially if babe woke up crying or needed a nappy change. We don't live near family or friends so that's not an option....it really only has dawned on me that things like the theatre etc are a no go area with tiny baby in tow....how do you choose a babysitter and give such a HUGE position of trust to someone like that??

most people go on what others say about the babysiter down here they have a babysitters club were mums join up and share a babysitter and share duties ect ect maybe find out if there is something like that in your area

I would usually only use family or friends that I trust....But on this occasion I found a babysitter through an agency, nursery nurse, CRB police checked, Play group leader, qualified childcarer, references checked, will bring photo ID etc. And has experience working with young babies, I had to pay a fee (the company is called sitters) Its well known and recommended. So im fairly happy with that. :) To be honest I wouldnt take someone I didnt know without all that.

At the creche where I work the staff do babysitting too.

I'd ring a local childminder or nursery, you'll find lots of times they do babysitting aswell.

Oooh thanks for mentioning the sitters thing Cassi.

i've just had a read through their website and have just signed up to it as we have noone down here to look after kids either
