Hello, I hope someone can give me advice. I have a moby wrap and still use this for Dylan but its getting to be a bit of a pain because after about 20 mins he starts dropping down because of the stretch. I sometimes wear him on my hip but prefer to have him on front, face out. Is there a better type of sling/wrap/carrier I could get for him? I'm only 5"2 and have a small frame so I'm not sure if it's just time to give up on the baby wearing? I really love wearing him though and I know he likes it too so I'll be very sad if I have to.

Oh, I also like the idea of wearing him on my back but if I'm out and about I'm usually on my own so is there one I would be able to do that with? xx

i would say a mei tai is your best bet. it'll be quick and easy to use, esp a back carry. i back carry with a wrap and a mai tei and find the MT easier to do when I am on my own.

Here is an example video of a MT back carry. Its a case of practising, at first doing it next to a bed or a sofa until you get the hang of it.

The facing out front carry could be done if you cinched the base of the MT but TBH this carry is kinda not recommended as it puts all the weight onto the baby's crotch and this is thought to be bad for them. Plus as he is getting so big, its really going to get uncomfy quicker, puts your centre of gravity out (which esp at this time of year when it starts to get wet and slippy isn't a great idea) and causes baby to arch their back. A back carry means that baby can look all around, snuggle into uyou and hide their face when they get tired and their weight is distributed in a better way. Really bad pic of me (no make up, growing out fringe and very windy day)but this should give you some idea.

Id say a MT too ( i still carry my two year in them) or if you want to stick with a wrap then get a good woven one which will take the weight of a one year old and wont sag like the moby you have :)

Thank you for the info, and thanks for the video link Beanie......she makes it look quite easy! I'm off to find one now xx
