Very late post as I've lirerally not had a chance to just sit and do anything for myself since Monday haha.
I'll just give a (relatively) brief labour story as I'd rather not relive it
Started having contractions at 5am Monday morning, by 9pm they were getting strong and regular so went to hospital, they said I was about 2cm dilated and I chose to stay at the hospital after that. Went in the bath for a couple of hours by which time contractions were quite nasty.
Then went into labour sweet, sat with gas and air on birthing ball for an hour or so, then decided i wanted diamorphine which was useless and didn't seem to do anything. Was 4cm by this point.
Went into the pool but by this point I was so tired from the contractions I was falling asleep and had to be taken out of the pool. Carried on with gas and air until 6cm but stopped progressing and stayed at 6cm for 4 hours by which point I couldn't handle the pain anymore and had an epidural.
Still wasn't progressing so had to go on a drip to increase contractions. After 9 hours finally got past 6cm and started pushing at half 5 tuesday evening, he was born 20 mins later after 2 pushes
36 hours of labour was exhausting and still haven't slept much but he's just lush and worth every minute
