Just been reading this in the Metro

Pregnant women are being warned to stop using a device which monitors their baby's heartbeat amid fears it could be dangerous. Mother and unborn child may be exposed to a health risk 'in respect of energy emitted' from the Baby Beets Fetal Doppler, a watchdog said yesterday. So far, 113 monitors, incorrectly said to have the CE safety mark. have been seized by the Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

It looks identical to the angelsounds. Are they the same product with different names? Or is the angel sounds different?

Thats what I've said before - they look exactly the same. I saw an advert for the Angelsounds one and I have the Baby Beets one.

Doesn't say what it the "energy emitted" does or what will happen if u send it to the MHRA.

I have one too. I've not really used it because I don't feel I need the reassurance when LO is squirming around most of the time!

I wouldn't be too worried. The reason that it's hit the media is because it hasn't been tested and approved in the UK and has a misleading "CE" safety mark. The MHRA have already said "initial indications are that the health risk to a pregnant woman and/or their baby is small".

The MHRA will either test it or junk it on your behalf - I would send mine to them if they were willing to pay postage! Other than that I won't use it again.

Thats what I was thinking - doesn't sound like they are going to give u any money for the postage or what u paid if u do send it to them. I don't use mine much either as baby is always moving around.

I have a summer one, only because my mates sister gave it to me

Havent used it yet though

I have an Angel Sounds too. I'm confused is it ok to use?
