those of you who have had children before or those of you who's babies head has already engaged, what did it feel like ?? i posted this an hour ago - i just had the most strangest pressure pain while (sorry ladies) having a number 2, i was sat there pushing when all of a sudden it felt like i pushed his head down into my flu! i was that scared i stood straight up and have not finished on the toilet. I thought i was guna push him out! silly ino but that how it felt. Any ideas to what just happened?? x i am now having nervy twitchy pains in the top of my legs when i walk and pressure pains now and again that are scearing me x

it maybe that youve pushed hard and the mucsle and ligaments have strained making it feel like pressure, then again if baby was ready to engage it my have done, unless you bleed or the pain gets really bad try not to worry, good excuse to put your feet up and relax with a cold drink x

I think when babys head engages (from how i feel and what midwife has agrred) is when he/she is "engaging" its can be quite a sharp pressured pain and a pushing down feeling on your cervix and inside your pelvis.

If I sit down over periods during the day, I feel baby press down in to my bits and i believe that is baby trying to settle in to a engaging position.

I think for some/most then engaged feeling can be different for all

Don't know how far engaged mine is hun but I have been told it is and I have been getting some sharp pains on and off low down (some of which have happened when I've been to the loo) and feeling of more pressure between legs and lower tummy. Find I need to wee more frequently too but it's not always that much....don't think my bladder has space to expand anymore!
I reckon that perhaps your LO moved down as you were bearing down but I wouldn't worry unless it still hurts, or u get contractions/waters break etc. Everyone says first time babies engage early, so i would say this is normal and not to worry :)
