Sorry I just need to let some steam off!! Do you ever feel that you get told different things and you are going to end up insane.

First I go to the doctor for my little girls smelly urine and get told that she won't have a urine infection as she didn't have renal problems when she was born and it must be due to something I've eaten.

Then at the weekend she cries more than usual, is restless in bed, dribbles and is irritable and can't stop chewing everything so I check my "First Year" manual and it confirms my thoughts that she has teething.

I see the health visitor today and she says that it probably isn't teething and she has a ear infection. She also tells me that my doctor is wrong about renal problems. So I go back to the doctors (see a different one this time) and he tells me that her ears are fine and that she can't be teething as she is too young (she is 3 months and 1 week)!!! But the hv did say that she could be teething from 3 months.

It's a nightmare and sometimes I feel that I should go up to a brick wall and explain the situation and I may get better advice!!! It's annoying hearing and reading different things from the medical experts!!! Sorry for the long post, just needed to get it off of my chest!!

DD got two teeth at 4 months so it could well be teething, some babies are born with teeth! Sometimes they'll get really strong wee when they're teething so if she hasn't got a temp then I'd put it down to that. Obviously if she starts appearing unwell and still has stinky wee then I'd request that they check it (good luck getting that sample ;) ).
Hope she's better soon :)

Yeah, you don't wanna have to try to get a wee sample :shakehead: I sat in hospital with libby aged 4 days old, balancing her on a little cardboard pot from 11am until 6pm.......it took her 7 hours to wee!! Boy did my arm ache

Anyway, I know what you are saying about the different advice, I have had this too, Libby started putting things in her mouth just before 3 months old, MW said she wasn't teething just feeling things.......GP said she might be teething couldn't rule it out..... ....still no teeth but still lots of signs so who knows.

Not much help there...sorry.....just letting you know it seems all MWs & GPs are the same
