I'm contemplating getting Talia one and letting her have a little taste of the chocolate each day. Would this be the wrong thing to do? she doesn't usually have any 'bad-foods'. Should I just stick to a plain non-chocolate one?
Would like to know what everyone else is doing?

we have got James one :D

Way i see it its a special time of year and a tiny bit of chocolate. When he has had it before most of it ends up dribbled out anyway! lol

That decision was taken from me.... my mum buys EVERYONE a chocolate calender and the baby got one too  I might give her a try some days but no doubt big sister will "help" as she "helps" me every year with my calender :rotfl: Sadly now if I give Tia something to eat or drink lil miss looks at me and signs food and driink too... if I give her something different she'll throw it on the floor and point at what Tia has.... oooo xmas is going to be a fun filled ride of jealous tantrums

Both Merry and Marcus have calendars this year. Marcus had one last year too but his big sister ate most of it, with a little help from his Mummy :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just debating whether I should get one for the baby in my tummy too?

No way. I know I sound like a mean Mummy, but she'll be just as happy opening a door each day, and doesn't understand about treats or chocolate yet, so I'm just getting a normal picture one.

I'm with you Valentine!

We've got Dan a stocking with little pockets. Theres a pocket for each day and in that me and my mum have put little toys, pens, etc

That's so weird I knew I was going to get Mason and Brody one each but I hadn't even considered getting Riley one, its like I'd forgotten him

I won't be getting him one anyway, he doesn't need chocolate yet (will probably have a button over xmas or something but not every day in December LOL

I've got a big wooden box with 24 drawers painted with the numbers. Misslarue, you've just reminded me to find something to put in each drawer (not chocolate!).

I'm not getting Sam one. We are already in undated with bags of chocolate buttons. People seem to think now he is having food he will be eating chocolate all the time too.

I still feel mean though.

ive got 24 little pink cloth fairies hanging in a row that we put little nibbles in for her last year. packets of raisins and other dried fruit, chocolate coins, little things like that.

in fact, i must find that.... Ive no idea where it is though :? she might be getting a chocolate calendar if i can't find it!!

This year I bought one of those material ones you hang on the wall and put little things in the pockets. I'm not going to put sweets in for every day. As I've got girls, I'll put little clips, bobbles, stickers etc in. Sam is still too young really, but he'll get the odd little thing.

I think the chocolate ones are a bloody rip off! I couldn't afford three anyway :D

I bought Maddison a chocolate In The Night Garden one but TBH its just so she has a calendar, hubby and I will eat the chocolate coz we are mean

Ive made my own fabic one which i intend on using but not for chocolate.

I quite like the idea of the ones with drawers come to think of it. I'd probably have to spend a fortune on stuff to put in it though :?

MIL has bought Calleigh one but i am still undecided on whether she will have the chocolate
Depends on whether i want the chocolate :) who am i kidding i will probably eat the chocolate
She has yet to taste anything like that so its not like she will know.

Thats a fab idea! If you don't mind me asking where did you get the box from?

Finlay won't be getting a chocolate calander either or next year

I got Hayden an in the night garden advent calender but he is nearly 2 and a half so not a babba anymore- its his first one! i don't think him having that tiny bit of choc everyday will do any harm :-)

I got the box from here, the Enlighten charity shop (for epilepsy), in Haymarket, Edinburgh. It was new though, not second hand and I bought it 3 years ago, I think.

Its in the shed just now, and I don't seem to have a photo from last year. I'll take one in a couple of weeks when we decorate for Christmas.

nope, its yucky chocolate in them (I am a chocolate snob sorry). I am making Seren a advent calender (so not doubt will be buying one on 1st December ;). She had a chocolate one last year, her first one, and it was a nightmare as she just wanted a chocolate everytime she saw it lol. Cally will probably have a little paper one like Seren did as I doubt I will have time to make 2.
