I'm scared!

I'm off to aquanatal with another Bex that I don't know in real life and I met on the Teaching Forum (she's also pregnant though clearly!)...

Kind of excited but scared too as:

1) Exercise and me don't normally mix.
2) My bikini top is over 3 sizes too small and actually hurts.
3) It's been so long since I shaved my legs!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you'll have a good time, I go swimming every week and love it, it feels so nice to be in the water

That sounds like great fun hun.

Let me know if its fun might go myself.

Unfortunately, I can't go to aquanatal as they only do it on Wednesday afternoons when I'm at work :( but I just wanted to say hello, so 'hello!'

Ooh hello!

Nice to see you on here!! Enjoy your stay - everyone is really friendly :D

i went when i was pg and have to say i really enjoyed it ...it is very relaxing and not too much like hard work

good luck

That sounds good to me cloud9... not too much hard work is what I'm after.

Think of me at 1pm ladies!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

Well, I can thoroughly recommend aquanatal if any of you haven't been yet. It was just us pregnant ladies in the pool (probably 7 or 8 of us and half of us were newbies) and it was run by the same midwife as my antenatal sessions.

The exercises were not strenuous at all, although I have to say I was laughing so much throughout as my coordination is NOT the best and I kept tumbling over my float and stuff. They raised the floor of the pool too so we had loads of low water which was great.

The sensation of weightlessness when you get in is absolutely amazing. You really don't realise how much extra weight you're lugging round until you lose it! It felt almost like being a Size 8 again :rotfl:

Anyway just wanted to say if anyone's trying to pluck up the courage then GO! We all looked ridiculous of course and the majority of us went with bush bikini line and hairy legs - who cares?!

Sorry to butt in on your thread but .... oh my god ... your from Kettering!! Me too! When are you due?

That sounds fun - I think I'll go see if there is any on near me :)
hate swimming normally but I'd love to take the weight off my pelvis and actually do something!

:rotfl: Love it :) Sounds like you had a great time. Our only swimming pool within a 20 mile radius has been closed. I can't be arsed to drive a 40 mile roundtrip now. I get really uncomfy when I have to sit and drive for that kind of distance now :?

Hi xkikix! I work in Kettering, but actually live in Oakley Vale and I went to aquanatal in Corby today for the first time :) Normally I would be at work, but it's a bit of a long story...
I'm due on April 4th, although I reckon I'll be a couple of weeks earlier than that - here's hoping, eh?

I'm gonna be staying in a hotel with a pool this weekend and I just know OH and James are gonna drag me in with them.
I'm dreading it, my tankini won't cover my hairy bump, and my legs are hideous, been hit badly by varicose veins.
The fact I've been a greedy guts and put on about 3 stone isn't going to help either!
I'm going to look and feel like a right minger

Aw, poor Muppetmummy
You'll just have to get in the water quickly if you feel so self conscious. But to be honest, the women will understand and be too excited by your bump to care about other bits of you and the men won't notice

I'll be ok once I'm in the water, will just have to take a towel to the pool side with me. Men normally just stare at my boobs so hopefully that will draw attention away from my fat lumpy bits

Glad you enjoyed it Bex.

MM if its in a hotel i doubt there will be many people there anyway. Are you going home to Plymouth?

Going to visit OH's brother and his family in south east england this weekend (marlow which is in herts I think  ) so will be doing day trips to london. Got to stay in a hotel cos BIL's house is tiny :cheer: :cheer:

On monday we're going on down to Plymouth and staying with my parents for the week. We're leaving tomorrow morning so I've been been busy ironing the clothes mountain so far today ready for packing. I won't be packing very much for me for once cos I haven't got many maternity clothes. Normally I get told off for taking half my wardrobe
