Anyone thought of ending the whole TTC journey?

Hello ladies
I'm relatively early on in this process. We've been trying for around a year and a half. We're both 36. I'm at the stage where I'm on Clomid and did not respond to my first two cycles of 50mg based on day 21 progesterone test. Last cycle I took 100mg and had to go for a couple of follicular tracking scans. My consultant said if a few more cycles go by, he'd consider a laparoscopy and ovarian drilling. I have regular monthly period and no PCOS, but I obviously don't ovulate every time. I feel that when I read everyone's posts on here, that everyone is so brave, and I feel sad that we all have to go through so much to get what some women don't want/ appreciate. Has anyone else called it a day before all these invasive procedures? I don't think I could do it.

I have days when I get upset and think why am I doing this and putting myself through so much heartache. Then I think of having my baby in my arms and knowing it will be worth all this pain and waiting. Hope you get good news soon x

I don't think I could go through those kinds of treatments. If it doesn't work for us we may adopt. 36 doesn't seem that old...do they know what the problem is? I had a friend who did a lot of yoga and got pregnant.

I think it's not surprising you are not sure about undergoing these kind of invasive procedures. It's something to think about seriously. You don't have to do them.

I've not had any procedures but been trying since jan. Been pregnant once and miscarried at 6 weeks. Now I'm starting to feel like TTC is all I have in life and it's really getting me down when it doesn't happen. So yep. I feel like giving up too.

Yep feel like giving up on lots of occasions. Been trying to conceive for 2 years, numerous miscarriages which are hard to cope with. I can totally feel your pain and like others have said, think carefully about procedures and don't be rushed into it. Good luck xx

I've thought about giving up many times!! I've been feeling a bit more positive lately but who knows how long it will last.

I've had quite a few procedures now (nothing as invasive as they're proposing for you) but I was happy with the rationale for everything I had done. I wouldn't have had anything unless I was 100% happy that it was necessary or that I would benefit from it. Make sure you ask lots of questions if you're not sure.
