anybody used 5htp? *update been referred*

It's supposedly a herbal anti-depressant...

I have used it before but wondered if anybody else had. Was prescribed anti-d's again today but might try these first.

i took 5htp but as part of a cocktail of herbal PCOS supplements... i'd stopped taking dianette as it had made me depressed, and felt a damn sight better for it. but it would be difficult for me to say whether that was down to 5htp or coming off dianette

I've used these and St Johns Wort before when I was a hell lot more depressed than I am now, and I remember thinking they worked, but I was also younger then so don't know whether it's because I wanted to believe they worked or whether they actually did. St Johns Wort you can't use on the pill so I'm gonna try the 5hps again

i haven't posted about it but i've been really monotone, cold and negative recently and I just have to get out of this.. once and for all. i've been pissing about with depression for years now and it's about time I just got the hell on with fixing it instead of finding a way not to.

Bit of an update on me, I've been referred for counselling through my Gp for Depression/Stress/PND - basically they have no idea what's up with me and I've got an assessment on monday morning.

The htp's are ok though I've not been taking them regularly if you know what I mean so I'll get started on them better and see if they help. I just keep forgetting and I don't want to leave them next to my pill as I don't really want Nat knowing I'm trying them..

So yeah, thats me atm really.
