We have an enclosed garden at the back of the house and now that the weather is getting nicer I have been looking forward to letting Emma play out there, and we were going to get a swing or slide for her.

However, everytime we go out there is about 5 or 6 cat poos all over the place, it's disgusting and they really smell, we don't have cats, someone elses cats are crapping all over our grass!!!!!

Has anyone got any suggestions to stop this from happening? I was thinking about one of those ultrasonic thingys but our neighbour has a wee westie and I wouldn't want to upset him. It's really annoying me

you have to be really careful with kids and cat poo too hun (which i'm sure you didnt need to be told) best thing is to as k your local pet shop but i bought some green pellet things called keep off i think they were called that were really good and they dissolve into the ground

Thanks Mary, I'll go try and find some of those pellets.

I won't let Emma near the grass while this is still a problem, I wouldn't want her picking them up or anything :puke: :puke: :puke: We've worked really hard at making a really nice graden and we can't even use it!! :wall: :wall:

my dh bought a supersoaker and caught them in the act!!

dont know if it works but i read that rubbing oranges on your fences/gates is suposed to keep them out.
My dad always says just to shoot them :rotfl: he has a lot of trouble with cats sharpening there claws on his car and scratching the paint off... im not suprised hes mad it cost him £32,000!!! He usually throws water on them when he sees them on the garden, seems to keep them away for a while. You could always invest in a water gun?

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'd love to do that, but I never see the blighters :x

either a water pistol if you can catch them at it, or orange peel around the perimeter (although you'll need to change it when it dries up)

Cats never go in thier own back yard the clever things lol

Orange peel? How does that work then?

cats dont like citrus, I used to train my cats not to jump on the kitchen surfaces by using a citrus smelling cleaner, works a treat!

Ah ha, I never knew that. I'll go and get some oranges then, the neighbours will be wondering what the hell I'm up to :rotfl:

that would probably work becasue cats hate citrus. friuits
ther is some kind of spray or something you can get that they dont like so they wont come near your garden either. i dunno what it is

If it smells a lot it is possibly foxes and not cats, also cats do tend to bury theirs. havent got any ideas for getting rid of foxes you could try contacting the RSPCA.

Well I thought so too, but I can't think of any other explaination, our walls are too high for any other animal to get in. Dogs certainly couldn't get in, foxes might be able to, can they climb and jump??
The only other thing I can think of is the neighbour is chucking their dog poo over the wall, I certainly hope not!! :x

foxes can get in everywhere! You would be surprised!

I would day that if it in the middle of the grass then its unlikely to be a cat because they prefer corners etc and as others have said they bury it....

Is there any food sources available for them? ( A bim with a poor fitting lid etc) because they will generally only come looking for food so no food = no late night visitors..

Good Luck!
