My 14 month old had this come up about 3 months ago, we've been doctors a number of times who say they think it's eczema. They gave her cream and said apply for 2 weeks. We've done this but it's just got bigger and more angry looking.

Pharmacist said he didn't believe it was eczema and to get a referral to a dermatologist but doc refuses and says there's no need.

Anyone seen anything like this? Does it look like eczema?

We're just worried it will scar her skin if not dealt with sooner or with more urgency at least :( ImageUploadedByTapatalk1427575175.795962.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1427575188.895220.jpg

Is it slightly blistered? It looks so but it might be the light reflecting.... If so I would ask them to check it's not impetigo (bacterial) or a herpetic infection (viral), both of which are very common! Bless her :( Good luck xxxxx

My boy had eczema from about 5 months to 12 months and it looked nothing like this at all!

No blisters, if anything the other way. Very dry. It started looking like a patch of dry skin that just keeps growing.
:(
I'm going to look at those. Thank you.
We just want some idea x x

Mrs m, that's what everyone has said, no one but the doctor thinks it's eczema x

Hi I feel for you guys as I too have been to many doctors and dermatigist who argue over if my lo who is 15 months has ezcema or not it's very frustrating. My son has something simula in the same place on shoulder blade how very not as angry looking. What cream did they give you? Was it a steroid cream like hydrocortisone? Another thing you could try is a fungel cream like thrush cream canisten but if I were you is go to see a different doctor and insist on being refered to a dermatigist as I think doctors get tunnel visioned into saying every skin condition is ezcema. Turns out my lo just has dry skin!

Yeah a steroid cream three times a day with a 50/50 cream inbetween. It got so much worse after using that.

I'll try the fungal cream :)
My partner is desperate for me to swop doctors.

How did you get rid of the dry skin? X x

He still has dry skin but I just use hydromol cream throughout the day and if any areas become angry I use a bit of steroid cream. Your lo one looks quite angry so thinking a doctor should check it's not something else. My doc is terrible it's always ezcema with his skin and everything else is a viral infection!! Goodluck hope it clears up soo.

Same here, she's been I'll for nearly 5 months now and the doc said it's ongoing viral infections because if winter.
They hospitalised her twice for temp over 40 and shakes, sheds trooper :)

Could it possibly be ringworm? It doesn't always have the darker ring on it and it looks like it's a circle shape? Could very well be wrong, it just popped into my head.

Ohhh I've never heard of that! I'll look it up :)
She's back at doctors Wednesday so i will update incase anyone else ever looks for an answer to something similar ( not that I expect an answer lol)
