No i didnt and we have had no problems at all , the only time mine has gone off is when i picked my LO out of the crib and forgot to turn it off.

Thank you both. I assume the thing that tics stays in room so alarm would go off in room? I didn't buy the full set just the pad as have a monitor already. Assumed it would be a portable piece that you take with you but looks like it plugs into mat. Xxx

We dont have plywood, but we have a crib not a Moses basket. Our mat plugs into the night light bit, and the other bit is portable. Xxx

if you do it does stay plugged in , the only portable bit i have is the sound monitor .

I just poked a hole in some cardboard it definitely works because we're using it in the moses basket and it only goes off when I lift him out

I should say D is now in his cot which has a slated (sorry not sure if that's spelt right) base. We had no problems with it in the crib which had a solid base x

do you mean how would you hear the alarm?? have you tested the mat with your hand, its LOUD, i can hear it down stairs without the moniter. xxx

Hi sweet,

You can turn the tick off so you just have the green light flashing. I didn't use ply wood, just put straight on to slats on cot and it's sound - never gone off unless battery dead or I forget to turn of when I take B out. We put our normal monitor nearby it so if god forbid it did go off, you'd hear it x

Turned tic off. It'd bug me if I was him! I put it on slats too Jen. Hope you and Brooke are well
