Alcohol

Hey ladies,

I had a large glass of rose with lunch and G is due a feed at approx 5.15 (providing he fed at 1.15). I finished my drink at 1.15 and was with lunch as i said, I have been expressing just before the feed so in this case about 4.45 ish. Can i give him breast milk for the next feed or shouold i not?!

Im not sure ...... Hes 5 weeks prem as welL! x

hi hon, should be fine. I was told at breast feeding clinic that it takes 1/2 an hour for the alcohol to enter your system and 3 hours for it to leave. but if it's going to worry you might be better just to give ebm x

my lac consultant said 1hr per unit for it to wear off

I heard the rule was if you're safe to drive, you're safe to breastfeed x

No I heard there was no point to pump n dump, if your blood alcohol level is low enough your milk level will be fine. If you're on Facebook, find and like 'The Leaky B@@b' as there is loads of useful info on there x

I was told that too. And alcohol is not stored in your milk x
