on your length of cycle you probably do ov between those days so sure go for it. But bare in mind that everyone is different. Look out for fertile cervical fluid, this is known as egg white cervical fluid because it is very stretchy and clear/ cloudy and really looks like egg white. Anytime you see this get to bed! This is the stuff that sperm can swim best in and survive the longest in your fallopian tubes - up to 5 days.
As a rule your period will arrive 14 - 16 days after you ovulate so counting back from 28 day 14 is your ov date and you should be bd'ing for the two or three days before that. Sperm survive longer than and egg so it's best to have it waiting there in your fallopian tubes before you release an egg.
If you were 6 days late it is possible that either you had delayed ovulation (were you stressed around ov' day last month).
