A question to all with brothers/OH's about height.

Last time I went to visit my mum she asked Anthony if he was taller than his mum.....he is by a inch or so but he is short like me. Apparently its a scientific fact that boys are always taller than their mums when they are fully grown? Is this True with people you know?

(I don't go with scientific facts because apparently you can't lick your elbow and I can so neeeh!)

Yeah I've heard that all boys grow to at least an inch taller than their Mams.

i think my OH is the same size as his mum which proves what I've always thought...he hasn't grown up yet!

Yeah I've heard this too, and found it has usually been true but of course there exceptions...like freaky elbow people like you I knew one woman before who could do it, but that's because she dislocated her shoulder

I think both of my brothers are taller than my mum

My brother is taller than my mum but so am I.
OH is taller than his mum, as are his 2 sisters.

So in my experience, all mums are short

Well, my mum is only 5ft 3" so it would be hard for him to be shorter! He is 6ft 3". We are all taller than her though - I am 5ft 7" & my sister is 5ft 8"

I think in general, men grow taller than women so there is more chance boys will grow taller than their mams!
My half brothers mam is about 5ft8 and so is my bro? So they are about the same size?

Richard is taller than his mam and my brothers certainly are! My mam is 4ft 11 and both my younger brothers are over 6 ft lol

I haven't got brothers, but I can tell you that my father is much taller than his parents were (they were 1.50m and 1.53m, and my dad is 1.75m). My DH is 1.95 whereas his parents are both around 1.80m. Sorry, I can't figure out the foot/inch system now, but you get the general idea. So to answer your question, boys seem to grow taller than their mums (and possibly dads too).

my OH is also taller than his mum...he is 6ft 4in (woo a full ft taller than my mam lol)

Doesnt mean my OH has grown up though lol...

hubby is taller then his mum aswell but its not hard she is only 4'9 lol he is 5'5

My mum was 5'1" like me and my brother's 5'9".

My OH's mum is 5'6" and he's 5'9".

My OH's mum is about 5'1" and OH is a shortie at 5'4". Has anyone tried to figure out how tall their child will be from the formlua that's in the red book by the growth charts? I tested it on my height and my parents and it was way off!
