A big mouthful...

Well, after days of continuous breastfeeding and Oscar not gaining great weight for the last few weeks, I decided to see how this little boy would react to baby rice.

I expressed milk and made a very sloppy mixture - much less runny than yoghurt. My goodness, this boy carried on as if he's never been fed!!!!
My daugther laughed so much at the site of Oscar slurping one spoon after the other and getting impatient in between spoons.

I gave him very little, but now I'm a bit confused because I didn't expect him to like the wallpaper paste - I would honestly say that he loved it.
Will go with the flow ........

Coby has either some baby rice or a rusk a day, i automaticly said yum when it goes in his mouth, so now when he eats it he makes a "mm" sound lol its so sweet.

Lol, what a cutie! So are you going to keep him on the rice? Or are you going to try something different soon?

I read the other day that breast milk contains something that breaks down carbs, so food like baby rice and cereals will get runnier the longer they stand. I thought that was really interesting. Geek mode over!

Do you know what, Ive just been reading through my son Joshua's baby book and I started to give him baby rice at 3 months old ( he's now 9 yrs old). Havent times changed!

You're right Roo...
My son just turned 12 and weaning was recommended at 3-4months when he was a baby. I guess there really is no need to rush things... they'll be eating us out of house and home soon enough anyway!!

sounds like he really is enjoying it.
My dad said he gave us baby cereal and weaning at about three months and wants me to start kiara but told him doc says 4-6 mohts and Kiara aint ready anyways i think our babies let us know when they are.
