7 year old with lump under nipple?

Hi there,

Just looking for some advice really.

My daughter is 7 and yesterday said her nipple hurt. Had a quick look and felt a little lump about the size of a frozen pea, maybe slightly bigger.

It's pretty sore and she has mentioned it a few times today. It doesn't look red or anything. I have booked her an appointment thusday morning with the gp but was wondering if anyone had any experiance of this?

Surely she is too young for hormone problem or breast tissue?

she is being referred to the hospital. She has one lump under her nipple and one slightly higher up about midway between nipple and armpit.

He was also concerned that her nipple looks darker then the other

He said it is most likely a breast bud but at 7 she is pretty young for this. Other then that his only suggestion is cysts.

Probably won't get seen till after xmas now. Just been advised to keep an eye on it and give her calpol if it's very sore.

Hopefully it's nothing serious and she seems fine otherwise so I'm not too worried about it.
