Hi,
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I have been suffering with sickness and nausea for the past few weeks. I've been to the doctors today who said that I had a high level of keytone in my urine and has prescribed some sickness tablets she's also signed me off work until next Monday. Although my boss as been very understanding am feeling so anxious and guilty about having this time off work.

is anyone else having a hard time?

Xxx

Hi, I can completely sympathise. I am 7+2 and have been suffering with all day sickness for the past week. It's unbearable really 😷 I am away on holiday in Gran Canaria and it has unfortunately been ruined because I've been too ill to enjoy anything, such a shame. The heat doesn't help 😓 Travelling home in the morning which is going to be fun with the coach journey and 5 hour plane ride. Did you have sickness with your first child? With my son I was sick up until 18weeks, really hoping it's not going to be so long this time. I have my midwife appointment on Wednesday so I might ask for some anti sickness tablets. Have you taken them before? I wasn't offered any the first time around and for some reason didn't think to ask.

Hi dee, poor you sounds horrible! Only think that's helped me ease it a tiny bit is trying to eat a little bit when I'm hungry it's at its worst but I can't often eat to be honest. With my little girl I did have it for about 3 weeks then just nausea after but manageable I'm praying this will be the same. I didn't get the tablets last time but because I'm struggling with work I'm gonna try anything I can.

I hope th journey is ok for you!xx

I am the same, try to eat to keep it at bay but often struggle to get anything down. I hope that the tablets help to ease it for you. I have got ginger tablets, from boots, which take the edge off for a couple of hours but you can only take 1 a day so they certainly arent a cure all. Could be worth a try for you though.

Thank you, all the best for you too 🙂 xx

Exact same situation here. Got signed off for a week with sickness and been feeling guilty as hell even though the break has been amazing x

If you've got high ketones the GP should have really sent you into the hospital for some IV fluids. If you meds don't work within 48 hours then I'd go back ask to try something different. I was admitted at 10 weeks with my 2nd due to ketones and severe sickness and had IV fluids and IV anti sickness. I tried a number of drugs before finding a combo that worked. I've not been as bad this time but been quite pushy with the GP as know how bad it can get. Good it dosen't last too long for you X

Thanks, I've never heard of it before so was a bit caught of guard when she said. I'm going back to her on Thursday if things haven't improved and she has said she will do another urine test although am hoping the tablets will kick in and I can get back to some normality. Thanks for the advice xx
