10 year old girl

I posted this in the 6+ forum but it seems a bit dead so trying here now...



My DD has been a bit of a sh1t in her time but never a "bad" child, just a bit of lippyness and chat back, but recently shes been getting so grumpy and rude its like someone has taken my CG away and dropped this stroppy huffy nasty teenager in her place, could it be there she is hitting puberty? shes quite well developed and has started to wear bras and is normally a very switched on child, i'm just at the end of my tether as to how to stop the grunts and whaaaaaaaa's? all the time,
Being so hormonal myself isnt helping and is just leading to me screaming like a banshee and her crying,

Help, someone, anyone...

hi hun could she be ready to start her periods because thats just how my neice has just been and she is 10 and her periods started a week ago my older neice was the same she is 17 now

Could be puberty also could it be a subconcious reaction to your pregnancy? She's been an only child for a long time and perhaps without meaning to be bad or anything she is feeling a little unsettled.
Just a suggestion.

I'm no expert i'm afraid so can't really say much but I was thinking it maybe the beginnings of puberty or a reaction to your pregnancy.
Sit her down & try chatting to her like an adult & she might open up & let you know if there is anything wrong?

I have spoken to her we are very close and she really is thrilled at the prospect of being a big sister, i'm not convinced it would be that, but with regards to the periods, i dunno i'm thinking that that might be the more likey option although my mum, me and sister all started around 14 so she would be sooner than us, i'm just so torn as to what to do and try next, i've been understanding mum, shouty mum, ignoring the behaviour mum, *humptf* guess the next one is give up mum...........

fee u know ur got a crackin daughter and its gotta be something unuasula for her to play up ! i thinking she's gonna start her periods soon , she is well developed for a 10 yr old ., just like i was and i started at 10 too . she loves ya hun , and i even recons she understands ya moods ! u think she's understood u not being well all the time ! shes one switched on cookie . no advice tho just hugs xxx

Thanks Gem, she is a good kid hence why i can't understand the grunts and attitude, ah well seems to have gone for today at least thank god!!

In fairness puberty is a lot more than just starting your periods, I remember being a right little toerag at times and even I didn't know why. She sounds like a great kid and I'm glad that you have that closeness between you which allows you to talk openly. I hope everything continues to settle xxx
