Hello.

Hoping to find a radiographer to ask ask couple of questions regarding x rays and other scans.

Is there one lurking about?

I'm not one, however my best friend is a radiographer if that's any help? X

I just want to know about exposure whilst pregnant. I'm a nurse and regularly have patients that require portable x rays ect and wondered how far away I need to be to stay safe.

Currently running out of the room when ever someone needs ano cray as no one knows yet.

If you could ask your friend I would be truly grateful. Don't want to ask the people at work as news like that spreads like wild fire :)

When a patient of mine has a portable x-ray the radiographer gets us all out of the bay so we are not exposed

So I spoke to heI've. She said a minimum of 6 foot away but the further the better. If you have to stand closer then make sure your wearing a lead gown x

I've just made a bit of a faux pas this week.

I work in a hospital in a corporate role. To gain a better understanding of the services I'm involved with I've been scheduling visits to watch the clinical staff in action. I've seen some interesting things recently including a AAA case in theatres and a biliary stent. I stupidly arranged with the clinical director of radiology to come and watch one of his vascular procedures next week which is going to involve the use of fluouroscopy equipment. I'm such an idiot...trying to think of excuses now which is a bit off seeing as i'd asked specially.. I'm hoping he forgets!

Thank you for asking for me!

I work in A&E and in resus we have lead curtains but sometimes I worry I'm not clear iykwim.
