WORRYING TIME.

Hi Nie,

I've just posted on this very subject! I've had a brown disharge from 9 weeks and, despite other people reassuring me that they'd also had it and that it was "normal", I couldn't help fretting.

After 2 weeks of brown discharge (sometimes with mucus), I also had a bright red bleed this weekend. I've just been for a scan today at almost 12 weeks and the baby was the correct size for my dates, moving around, the heart was beating fine.

There's no point in me telling you not to worry, because you will anyway, but I honestly think that you'll be fine. You've done the right thing in asking your doctor about it and I'm glad to hear that they've booked you in so quickly for an early scan. Brown discharge is usually okay, but if it turns red, that can be riskier (but even then it's not always a m/c, as my story shows).

Let us know how you get on. Good luck and I hope you enjoy seeing your little baby for the first time :D

Love,
Wendy

Hi Sweetie,
Yes it is very very common in the first tri, more so early on in first tri.
I also want to reassure you that you may not be as far on as you think....it could still be implantation bleeding, it all depends on your ovulation during the cycle.....so there is a 2-3 week discrepancy there  that being said try not to worry
Next, with this in mind, when you go tomorrow, you will need to have an internal scan, because you are so early in pregnancy the tummy one will not be possible, You may also NOT get a heart beat... but that doesn't mean things have went wrong :shakehead: Baby will be fine but this just means your less than 6 weeks......it is very unusual to pick up a heart beat sooner than 6 weeks, earliest I know is 5 weeks 4 days.... So no panicking the EPU staff will explain this all to you as well... I am just giving you a heads up so you can try to relax a little before tomorrow,
Read Wendy's post too, she had a recent worrying time and all is well with baby....
Take care , feet up, No tea, coffee or juice with caffine in it, no wine and lots of TLC from your partner.... OK ?? Lv Yvonne xx

Hey hun ;et us know what happens after the scan. Good luck xxx

Just back from the hospital.

EVERYTHING IS FINE.

They confirmed I am 7 weeks 5 days pregnant with a due date of 6th December.

It was fantastic to see the tiny heartbeat, I even cried a little.

She told me that it was most likely that the discharge was a little old blood and nothing to worry about unless it turns red or pink or I have any pain. I was also told that a had a small cyst on the left side that was nothing to worry about as I conceived from the left.

No pictures this time though. Will get one at my booking scan between 12 - 14 weeks.

Take Care x

Excellent news! Glad to hear all is well.

I also had this type of bleeding for 5 weeks from week 4 to week 9. It does seem to be quite common although if you read up about bleeding on the internet, all you get is doom and gloom.

Everything was fine for me too. Just had my 20 week scan and all is well.

Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy. B x

 aww congrats and dont lift nothing remember u still early days :)

I am relieved. although I am still worried sick about the discharge and I am now having slight period like twinges, but I have been told not to worry.
