Anyone got any good ways of winding your baby?

My nearly-3-weeks-old seems to constantly have wind..

I try rocking from side to side back and forth, patting on the back, rubbing, standing up with mine...and he still always has wind...I've even got those Advent bottles to prevent colic as he is a little bit colicky....and we even give him Infacol. The bottles have reduced his screechy breathing that he does when he guzzles down the milk but he still does it a little bit...any ideas anyone? x

Also- someone suggested maybe putting him on hungry milk formula if he guzzles it so much...sometimes he'll feed then want another feed in 2 hours or less- not all the time just sometimes....when people come to visit he acts like I've not fed him all day lol! but he is a greedy baby...in a week he's gained 13lbs x

Oscar used to be impossible to wind so I used to have to try all the techniques. Usually one would work, then the next time not a chance lol. The one that worked most though was sit him as upright as possible, really really gently have one hand on his tummy pushing in - really gently - rub his back with the other hand then after a bit of gentle back rubbing in circular motions gently pull him straight up with either rocking sideways or back and forth, and it would usually pop right out. Another good one was lay him across my lap with his tummy on my knee and rub his back, or lay him across my shoulder with his tummy on my shoulder and rub his back.

Infacol used to help too, we used it every day til Oscar was about 3 months ish then they start being able to help get the wind up a bit more.

Sometimes though, there is no wind! If nothing comes up after 4/5 mins, I would give up lol

I found the best thing that worked for Lizzie was to keep her laying down in my arms for a good 5-10 minutes after a feed, then bring her upright after all the wind had 'gathered'. It would then come up fairly well and it gave her time to get the food down to her stomach so she had less sick.

Kayden doesn't have alot of wind, but we have the same issue with feeding constantly. He goes 3/4 hours between feeds (think he went 5 hours once) & when he gets it he guzzles it down so fast & ends up sick. He takes a full 4oz bottle then an hour later wants another 2oz

I think its a good idea what becky said about leaving them to lie for 5/10 mins b4 winding, I think i've been moving kayden about too quickly after his feeds & thats why he's puking alot.

:)
