when does your period start after stopping breastfeeding?

i am planning to wean off the booby in jan,
gradually dropping one feed per week for the month.

at the end of jan it is my 40th and me an OH are going away for a few days, so will i suddenly get my nasty really heavy first period on my nice romantic 'kid free' hotel break? great birthday pressie too!!

any advice pls xxx

Sorry I can't help as I got mine soon after I stopped bleeding from birth despite ebf. I hope someone else can help you before your time away xx

My LO stopped bf around 10 half month's, I expressed for a week reduced the amount each day then went cold turkey. My period came back around 5 weeks after I stopped expressing.

I am just down to one feed a day now after slowly weaning off as you plan to. Baby is just shy of 6 months now and still no period?! I'm assuming it won't come back until I properly stop, but I know some ladies are ebf and have still had their period (and even managed to fall pregnant again!) so I think it depends on each person I guess? Xxxx

Mine came back at 8 months pp. I was only feeding lo once a day by then.

I fed for 5 months, stopped just over 2 weeks ago & still not had a proper one. Had a few days bleeding here & there but nothing official!
