In you know who?

Following on from Jools thread really....

My DS is 8 and has questioned the validity of a certain jolly man baring gifts for the last 2 years but the threat of no gifts if you stop believing has been enough to keep the magic alive, this year he has told me he knows a certain fairy that collects ivory from pillows is me and his dad and mused if said jolly fellow is too I have mananged to keep him believing for another year but I think next year the game is up

not put the names of (not so) *real people* in here incase little eyes catch a glipse!!

My eldest has just turned 7 and he still believes although the other day he said to me "how does 's' deliver pressies? No one can fly and there's no such thing in magic. So is he real?"

What a question to answer (especially as he had just asked if god created the world)

I said to him "do you believe he's real?" and he said yes

I then said "well in that case he's real to you".

My DD is 8 and still believes but I've made the most of the past couple of years cos I keep thinking its prob gonna be the last!

my lil bro is 6 and doesnt believe anymore :(
he just announced it one day when i was at my dads!! my stepsis told him if he didnt beieve he wouldnt get anythingand he started to   ...... my stepmum said he could believe in what he wanted and explained that xmas is all about being festive and what a magical time it is he wa better after that!! my OH doesnt agree with bigging up santa to jack as he doesnt want him to be upsetr when he is older but i want to its all part of the fun!!! i can c it causing arguments

Mine still believe! Well I say that but with my eldest (9) especially I think he wants to believe more than actually does! I think he would be so upset when he finally admits it! :( The older brothers (Ohs kids) told them he wasnt real and I had to help change their minds! They asked me if he was real and I said "do you believe that he is?" and I think the older ones knew I meant that its the belief that's fun more then if he is actually real or not kwim?

Hell, *I* still believe! :rotfl:

My mother told me and my younger brothers about 20 years ago that the year we stopped believing, he'd no longer visit. Every year around the beginning of December, all three of us take great pleasure in reminding her that we still believe - and we still get stockings! :cheer:

Best of all, DH's mother made the same reckless threat (only more than 30 years ago  ) so we get two stockings each. Amazing how the jolly old man seems to undergo a personality change in different parts of the country - at my parents' house my stocking is stuffed with glamorous things like nail polish, handbag mirrors, silver key fobs, etc, and at my in-laws' it's full of tea towels and socks! :rotfl:

My mum thinks my 10 year old sister is just humoring her with "believing".

TBH i dont know how old i was when i stopped believing, what i do know is when some kids who were never led to beleive in santa thought it was funny to keep telling me he didnt exist i wouldnt believe them lol.

I hope theres no kids like that around when Tally's growing up, i want her to have magical christmas' not thinmk of it as just a time when she gets things

My mum had to tell me he wasnt real when I was little because he scared me, I must have ruined all her fun

Oh my goodness I was SO freaked out by Santa had to get my Mum to promise he wouldnt come in my room, I remember every year braving it out in the queue to visit him in the department store absolutley shitting myself because I didnt want to miss out on a prezzi I never made it to the grotto so my sister always got a gift and i didnt :(

Mason still believes, he asked a lot last year, so maybe this year will be his last of believing, it'll be a real shame but I know he'll be great at humouring the other 2 later on :)

luke still utterly believes and he is 7, but ryan who is ten just said out of the blue " father christmas is the same as the tooth fairy, and we both know who that is!" :rotfl: :rotfl: he wasn't the least bit bothered lol

My eldest are five and four and they totally believe. How can anybody who has watched Polar Express not believe??

I love the magic, it gets me all sentimental....

My lo still believes ( he will be 7 in January) although last year we did have an issue with the older kids at school telling him that "s" wasnt real. So he questioned it and I asked him to decide if he wanted to believe or not.

We found a brilliant website which tracks the jolly fellows journey on christmas eve and he used to love loggin on to the pc to see how much closer he was getting!! I also tell him the the Robins are Santa's spies and every garden has their own Robin to check if the boys and girls are being good :rotfl:

He said to me the other day that he wanted a PS3 for his christmas. I told him that they were too expensive and he said to me "thats ok mum, its not your worry, it's santa's!!" :rotfl:
