I breastfed Ani for the last time this evening. In part i am sad, as I will miss the closeness, but I am also proud of myself as I have fed her for ten and a half months nearly, and I only expected to do so for six.
There is a good reason to give up, apart from the fact that she was only feeding in the evening after her supper, before bed, and seemed to be spending less and less time on the breast, I have also been called for a medical appt to see if I can get a breast reduction on the national health (spanish equivalent) The appt is the 30th of May, and I have to have given up by then.

In any case, wish me luck, as it is reaaaaaaaally difficult to get this op on the system in Spain.

I could do with a hug or two, tho, I feel a lil down...

I really admire you! 10 months is such an achievement. You've done really well :)

Well done hun, and good luck for your appointment

You did amazingly well to get to over 10 months :) I know I'm going to feel really sad when I give up breastfeeding too but you've given her a fantastic start

Good luck with the appointment, I hope you get the surgery you want.

massive hugs hun, I felt sad when Seren stopped too :(

but you did an amazing job, big up you!!!!

Aw mamachuli, I really feel for you. I think it must be really hard to stop, especially after so long and when your hand is forced a little too.

You have done an amazing job, I'm really proud of you. Make sure you have some nice close time with Anais each day now so you can concentrate on not feeling down.

Good luck with your appointment, let us know how you get on.

Well done lovely,

Valentine Xxx

Well done for getting so far! :cheer:

Good luck with your appointment as well

Thanks girls, I will keep you posted on the op situation.
Valentine, you are right, I have been thinking about the "close time" with Ani, and I remember something Mel did when she weaned Thea; she turned the evening feed into story time, and OH and I thought we would do that together, one of us can giver her a bottle and the other can read her a lil story or rhyme :) I am lucky in that OH is really understanding about how i feel about giving up and is helping me a lot just by giving me extra hugs and cuddles.
