i had my daughter almost 4 months ago and i stopped bleeding after a week ive not had a period since then and was wondering how long you all took after childbirth 2 have one
i was getting a little worried does any1 have any advice?

Are you breastfeeding? A lot of women don't have a period for months if they're breastfeeding.

Are you still breastfeeding? If you are, this can stop your periods completely.

If you are not breastfeeding, you should probably go to the docs to be on the safe side. I'm on day 5 of my first period (charlie is 6 weeks old).

Or - is there a possibility you could be pg again? Just a thought...

Does the injection not stop some peoples periods as well?

If there is any possibility that you may be pg (i.e. - if you have had sex any time in the past 4 months) then take a test hun. Definitely, even if it's just to put your mind at rest.

How would you feel if you wer pg again so soon?

i dont know if the injection stops periods my doctor never told me anyway when i was going to get it

Unfortunately, the only contraception that is 100% safe is to not have sex at all! Nothing works for everyone all of the time, and there is always the outside chance that the method you are using will fail. My daughter was conceived while I was on the pill and we used a condom!

Get yourself a test hun.

The injection can stop your periods. My mate didn't have a period for 3 years 2 of those years she'd come off the injection.

I swore by clearblue tests hun, I think a lot of people on here have used cheapy ones and confirmed with a clueblue.

after my 1st pregnancy i bled for 5wks, breastfed for 10wks but didnt have a period until baby was 1 yr old, had to have hormone treatment to get them started, and same with 2nd one, went 6mths without a period after having him.

i think every pregnancy is different and your body will react in different ways, but if your concerned go to docs and ask for a blood test, i had to get my coil fitted before even having a period after having 2nd as wasnt willing to wait for it to arrive knowing it could take months

Just confirming what others have said really - I had the 'depo' injection and it stopped my periods.

you periodscan stop with the depo or become erratic,also i actually know a few people who after child birth didnt start their period for a good few months after,and that wasnt on any contraceptive or breastfeeding

I had the Jab in january and didnt have periods again till like december and then conceived in january

I had my first period at about 8-10 weeks after I think. I used to be on the injection & didn't have a period for the 2 years I was taking it. Thats probably what it is hun.
