Hi everyone, anyone else got an under active thyroid? I currently take 125 mcg and when I was pregnant with my two children they had to rise my dosage.
My last pregnancy ended at 12-13 weeks (two years ago) and we was totally deverstated. I only thought after that I had not seen the specialist and not had my medication changed so will never know if that had anything to do with it.
I went to the doctors on Monday after finding out I was pregnant on Sunday. I stated my concerns and the doctor was fantastic, he rang the specialist (who was not in but promised to get ack to me by tomorrow) he also did my bloods to check my thyroide level.
He did mention that some doctors think it is best to rise the dose immediately in pregnant women but will look into it before changing mine.
Has anyone else had theirs altered???

Hi
I was diagnosed with Hashmitios after my ds was born, and am also on 125 mcg pre-pregnancy.
I too have the same concerns about dosage , but I only got my :bfp: today so not asked just yet! Will definitely be phoning the docs and asking for advice before my booking in appt.
So while I cant answer our questions right now, I just wanted to let you know that there is someone else here in the same boat

I dont have a thyroid at all so rely on thyroxine all the time
i have been seeing an endocrinologist to check my thyroxine levels every 3 weeks to make sure dose is ok
i am on 200mcg
i was on 125-150mcg pre pregnancy so I would think your levels will need increasing!

Cheers xx
I did think it was strange the last time when they did not alter my dose. If I have not heard from the doctor by the morning I will ring him xxxx

I was only diagnosed hypothyroid 2 months ago.

Had a TSH of 6 an was put on 25mg of Thyroxine.

Then it my bfp last week. So I panicked and got a blood test Monday.

Came back today TSH of 3.6 - big relief!

But I have an appointment tomorrow talk to my Dr. Hopefully he'll up me to 50mg and he's also said already that I'm being referred to an endocrinologist.

I was going to ask do we go to the doctors straight away? Usually my docs only see you at 6 weeks, but everywhere I've read nhs related says dose needs to be upped and referral to endocrinologist as soon as you find out
Thanks!

I've got an under active thyroid too, but my doc has not been concerned about the dose age and requested I carry on as normal?

My doctor rang me yesterday after speaking to the specialist regarding my thyroide and they have increased my level from 125 to 150, I have an appointment to see him in 2 weeks xxxx
