Perhaps someone has experience with Thyroid issues and TSH levels in pregnancy.
With my first child ( which was IVF ) I was on Thyroxin meds since my TSH was slightly elevated ( around 3.5 ). Started meds before IVF and continued throughout my pregnancy. I stopped once baby was born though since 3.5 is not considered that high but better to be lower in pregnancy as far as I understand.
Since this was a natural pregnancy I never had any Thyroxin before pregnant or haven't had any so far ( I am just over 7 weeks ). To be hones I completely forgot about my thyroid and TSH... ooops. and just realized yesterday! Know I had my TSH tested a couple of months ago and it came back again 3.5 so nothing was done then. Today I panicked a bit ( after reading high TSH can be dangerous for baby ) and went for a private blood test and got the results now and TSH came back 2.35 so a much better result. I have no idea how it can be lower since I thought TSH would rise in pregnancy? Last time it spiked when I got pregnant.
Does anyone know anything about this? Can I trust these results? I will see my GP asap but wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this?
Thanks!
