Well Jo, when I was pregnant before, after you reached 12 weeks, you went into your 2nd Tri (I'm sure!) but they seem to have moved it to 13 weeks these days...but this site is no help because you're finished tri 1 as soon as you reach 12 weeks, yet aren't in tri 2 until you reach 13 weeks. so you're on the "cusp" from tomorrow
when you're 12 weeks and 1 minute, you can float between tri 1 and 2 and see which you prefer
I was dying to get to second tri too. It makes you feel kind of "safer". Then, when you get to tri 2, you're dying to get to the halfway stage, then 24 weeks (possibly viable), then 28 weeks (more likely viable).
But I have to "warn" you, Jo, for the purpose of this forum, it's probably a better feeling to be the furthest along in tri 1 than the newbie all over again in tri 2. I feel like I've only really joined tri 2 this past couple of weeks (although I've now been in it 8 weeks
). I couldn't connect with anyone for a while - or at least that's how I felt. It seemed that everyone I most liked from tri 1 didn't join me in tri 2 (like you and Bexter). Anna B did and sadly, she's also lost her little boy. It was so tough, realising what a precarious journey pregnancy is (as you know).
Joining Tri 2 on the forum is quite boring at first. I mean, you're so desperate to get to the safer tri 2 then nothing much happens for ages in your pregnancy (e.g. you don't feel the kicks for a while and you've had your 12 weeks scan already) and it feels like you're in a new group on the forum too, with nothing much to talk about.
But tri 2 is great once you feel those little kicks! And then you can get another scan too!
So Jo, come into tri 2 and "join up" any time, but keep going back into the tri 1 section just a wee bit longer to talk to your friends there. And at least you know a few of us in Tri 2 from your first pregnancy
