which one do you have or would you recommend? I'm drawn to the all singing all dancing ones but don't know if simple is better,

we have this one....http://www.toysrus.co.uk/ProductImages. ... dId=723797
and we use it as a main cot, the reason we went for a travel cot is cos we have a static caravan and was toying with the idea of buying two normal cots, one for here and one for there but i really liked the idea of a bassinette, and i am really glad i bought it, i havent used the changing table bit very much but i dont use a changing mat, i do it all on my knee, so i wasnt bothered about that bit but if you are looking for one this is really good value too, we paid £59.99 for it and now its gone down again to £49.99, he is still in the bassinette bit and its so much cosier than being low down in a cot and you dond need a cot bumper either as its all soft so you can see your baby too.

Which? magazine recommends the Little Sheild Travel Centre or the Graco Compact. It's been a year and a half since they reveiwed them but I don't know if there would be lots of new models in that time  Kiddicare have the Graco Compact reduced to £30 in the primary colours.

I copied it into the address bar.
I didn't think you could use a travel cot as a main cot...I say that because we dont have room in our bedroom for the cot bed but Finn's outgrowing his moses basket rapidly so if you could use it as a main bed it would give me an excuse to have him with me for another few months :D

We had a graco compact for James and it was great, used it quite a bit when visiting friends and it was always very quick and easy to put up and down. We still have it packed away, so will use it for Logan if it's not too dusty/dirty (thats the trouble when you try and store stuff for years, it never looks the same when you get it out of storage)

We just used a cot flat sheet on the base, then made it up as usual with cot bedding.

It was also useful as a playpen when I needed to put him somewhere safe for a few minutes.

If you're gonna be using it regularly you might want to think about using something on the base for a bit of extra padding.

This is the one...

Well I have just ordered the Graco one that Rach recommended :)

You'd probably find one with a basinette easier with such a young baby anyway. The normal ones are quite low to the floor so it's a long way to stretch down to pick up baby! :D

aww you wont be disapointed, i just use standard cot size fitted sheets, they fit fine, oh i also have a "memory foam" matress topper that i put on before the sheet, ohh and another thing, who said you cant use a travel cot as a main cot? thats crackers!

I don't know - just something at the back of my mind...It came and seems very sturdy (although it's still to big to fit next to my bed!)

Your not ''supposed'' to use them as a main cot unless you have a proper mattress in it (I got one brand new from Ebay for about £15 that fit perfectly) as the spondgey base they come with is ok for an odd night but not for permanate use as its just not got enough support in it apparently!!

We used one as a proper cot from about 3-6 months till we gave up and bought a proper cot - we didnt have the room, still dont really, we just have to squeeze round the cot (we have a 1 bed apt, so no room for LO either!) but the constant bending to the bottom of the cot when he was 5-6 months and heavier was giving us both quite bad backs!! Plus he never slept soundly in it, always woke up TONS - we got a proper cot and his sleeping got so much better!!!!
