haha! I know what you mean!

I'm really lucky, I take Brody to the gym where I work, the kids pool is GREAT, it's really shallow so Brody can just walk and crawl around, if I take him in the deeper bit I either just hold him or sit him in his "boat" which is a floating race car with a steering wheel and holes for his legs.

I have just started using arm bands, she used to use a baby seat but is getting a bit too big for it now.

When James was that age, and until very recently he had a poly otter suit. Its like a short wetsuit with pockets all around it that you fill with these foam things, and you gradually remove the foam things as they get older and more confident. It was really good because it leaves their arms free. He learnt to swim with it. He can do lengths with arm bands on now.

ohrite coz i brough Braydon one of thes float suit things and it was size 2-3 but didnt fit so got 3-4 that didnt fit either and they didnt go ne bigger
i got B armbands and a ring today :D

Maheen has a swim seat, but she does not like it for too long as she can't move as much as she wants :)
so I bought a swimsuit with floats off ebay as well as armbands.
Went to the pool today and tried both, but with the swimsuit, she tilts backward, so I removed the flats and put the arms bands instead. I hope she will get used to the swimsuit because she can't learn to swim properly with armbands on! but she loves them! :)

At our pool, they have everykind of swimming aid, and you can try stuff during the lesson, that helps getting an idea of what suits your little fish best :)

Erin has just armbands on - she prefers the freedom of movement that they give her as opposed to rings.

She loves splashing about and is in the pool for a good hour and a half before I can get her out! :)

Just arm bands - but the water is so shallow anyway where we go.

When she was younger she had a "boat" exactly the same as what urchin is describing - a car with holes for the legs to go through, and a steering wheel :) She popped it though recently lol.
