I have just moved from cheshire back to wisbech and applied to be registered at the local quscks and told them that i was very pregnant and needed to be seen by the midwife as i need bloods taken and reg appintments.
So they get back to me this morning for a appointment on the 18 th july!!! How bloody thixk are they? not a month later il be ready to drop, they have refertred me the normal way apperently and it takes time.
What if i develop pre eclampsia or somethinganbd it goes undetected because there too bloody stupid to realise that at my gestation i now need regular appointments!

What should i do?They wont let me see the midwife without this stupid referral.

Hi mrs_tommo
I moved from one county to another when I was 28 weeks. I went to register with new docs and booked in to see a doctor. Not for any particular reason just so they could do normal checks and she sent a letter to new midwife but also gave ME the number to call them too. I called them and made myself an appointment. It is the only hospital in the town with just a birthing unit which I am booked into. But I also changed the hospital I was under for a new consultant and for a just incase place to go to as previous one was too far away.
If you live in a small town like me you should get the number and call them yourself. They shouldnt be booking you as if you are newly pregnant, that takes for ages to get seen.
Hope you manage to sort something out soon

Thats what i think there doing, im panicking cos i have just under 10 weeks to go and what if i get ill or shes early! yikes! i have booked a appoinement to see the doctor so i can tell her whats happened!

Well since I booked in there I have had 3 MW appointments in 10 weeks so yes, you should be having regular appointments. Although saying that alot of places are different and where as most are now on weekly I am still on fortnightly untill I reach 40 weeks
Just get the number and call them, it will put your mind at ease and stop you worrying so much. You arent being silly, just wanting the proper care you should be getting.

Thanks sherry, I just needed to hear someone elses opinion on it. I was really shocked when they said 18th july, i thought a month without antenatal care was rediculous. My husband insisted i phone them, he was a bit peeved about it.

No problem hun, just go call and put you mind at rest.

Hi

I would phone hun and see what they can do for you .
I know from 32 weeks you should be going every two weeks .

Definitely push for an earlier appointment. At this stage you should be having 3-4 week check ups. Sometimes they just don't realise how far gone you are.

I have had to wait 3 weeks for an available MW appointment and now it's been moved back another week coz she's not working the week of my original appt. :wall: I'm going to see the GP instead.

If you can't get in to see the MW ask to see a GP - they can do all the necessary checks just as well as the MW.

Hi all. I got the appointment at the docs yesterday and spoke to her and she gave me a number to ring. So i phoned them this morning and explained my circumstances to them and they were very understanding and saw that they had go5t their wires crossed and have got me booked in for this friday. So feel relieved to say the least!

Thanks for all your advice yesterday!!!
