Noah's got a sticky eye and we've just been wiping it with cooled boiled water and cotton wool. is there anything else i can do?

Breast milk is good. I wiped that on Oscar's eyes on a cotton wool ball :)

I was gonna say, I have heard breast milk is good

I squeezed breast milk directly onto it rather than onto cotton wool. HV showed me, simple take aim and fire  Helped lots :)

Keep bathing at least 4-5 times a day and maybe massage the tear duct gently to help also.

It might be a blocked duct rather than an infection. with clean hands gently massage the duct in the corner of his eye, it might clear it (if it is a blockage). this worked with Jake :D

Same with us, within less than a week of starting this her sticky eye was gone

we have one here too but it is conjuctivitus.. cotton wool, water is the way forward and it is clearing very quickly, it usually does only last a couple of days or so

Kayleigh had this since birth until she was around 16 weeks old. It looked bad at times but I was told not to wipe it to often cos it can irritate the eye more? But I was also told about the breastmilk too :D

breast milk helps. if it doesnt clear up ask ur GP for tests- sticky eyes are very common in newborns but occasionally- as in my case- its something more serious that requires antibiotics. its probably nothing, but just keep an eye on it (no pun intended!)
