I was in my local tescos on halloween, and saw a dad buying a melon cos they had ran out of pumkins! I keep wondering if it worked?!

I know a garden center near us did a display with all sorts of root veg carved in the american style and i know it does work with water melons so I'd say yeh ... as long as it wasn't yet ripe anyways.
