Shortening cervix

As I've had cin3 treatment on my cervix I needed a cervix scan at 20w.. It showed I was 3.7cm so they decided not to scan anymore (even though in my notes it says clearly it needed to be done every 2weeks) 3 is considered okay..
When I was in hosp the mw who examined me said to the consultant (while examining me) '1.5cm.. Shortened cervix' quieter than if she was ok with me hearing it.. Of course if it was a prob they'd have told me.. But it was after that they gave me steroids..

Before I left the hosp another consultant who had read my file for two hours she claimed, said I defo should have had the scans and even the growth scans I was turned away last min at..

Any thoughts on this? What it could mean? Will I reach my due date?

Just something that comes into my head alot.. Thought it's best to get it out lol!

I've had cin3 treatment July last year and they don't seem to have checked anything for me and baby is still very much staying put!

I'm not sure what it means by a shortening cervix but if I was going to guess I think your lo will be here early Lets hope not for another couple of weeks though!

I always thought that shortening happened in prep for labour hun. But guessing as lo has stayed put it doesnt nessarily mean labour is close ? !! will ask mw when she comes on thurs unless u r seeing someone earlier ? xxxx

Hey chick, Ive had CIN 3 treatment twice and I get scans every 2 weeks from when I was 18 weeks. I started off at 4.9 and now Im down to 3.9 which is still plenty but they always bring me back every 2 weeks, even have a scan this monday. From what I read up on it, anything above 2.5cm is good, anything under is classed as shortening and they have to check for funnelling of the cervix. From things that Ive read women from 1.5-2cm be put on complete bed rest as there is a chance of going into premature labour if the cervix shortens too much. Tbh Id be phoning the MW or doctor to ask if there is a chance of labour, although you've got the steriod injections and your baby is 35 weeks now so thats good. Maybe you could be going into the labour the next fortnight chick. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and I had had the steriod injections and she was perfectly healthy good luck chick xxxx

Thank you all... Babe if u had the treatment u need the scans... My old hospital was clearly incompetent!!
I've got a mw app tomo I'll ask her then.. I'll let you know what she says... I think if there's still a chance of preterm they should have told me clearly.. They said if I have any probs or pains etc to come back ASAP but they didn't say get ready just in case.. Just that they aren't worried if baby does come now coz I've had the steroids..
I'll update tomo morning..
